“CarolinaLink is proud to see eight students from rural North Carolina be awarded these national FRS scholarships,” said Kim Garner, CarolinaLink President. “We know they have worked very hard to excel in their studies, in their extracurricular activities, and to be active members in their communities. We’re glad to see their dedication and commitment be recognized and rewarded.”
The FRS Scholarship Program awards one-time scholarships to students across rural America for their first year of college, university or vocational-technical school. Each student is sponsored by an NTCA member company and NTCA members help spread the word in their communities about the available scholarships.
In addition to these FRS scholarships, CarolinaLink members have collectively awarded over $90,000 in scholarships to North Carolina students residing in their service areas.
