Access/On Names Steve Ledford as Chief Executive Officer
Dobson, NC –The Board of Directors for Access/On announced today that Steve Ledford has been named Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of Jimmy Blevins who held the position since 2018.
A Holly Springs resident, Ledford has more than twenty years of experience leading large software development teams for global technology companies focused on wired and wireless networking. Ledford has worked for a number of technology companies including IBM, LVL7 Systems, and Broadcom. Ledford obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from North Carolina State University and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Wake Forest University.

Access/On is a wholesale provider of advanced fiber-based communication services that provides fiber to small cities and towns in rural North Carolina. Access/On is led by a Board of Directors that consists of telecommunication leaders from across the state. Current Board Members include Board President, Kim Shepherd of Skyline/Skybest Membership Corporation, Keith Holden, ATMC, Kim Garner, Randolph Communications, Jeff Nethercutt, Star Communications, Richie Parker, Surry Communications and Mitzie Brannon, Yadtel Telecom.

Access/On Interexchange Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Access/On Multimedia, Inc., was formed in 1994 to provide advanced communication services to the smaller cities and towns in rural North Carolina. Originally, thirteen local exchange carriers joined forces to build a 1200-mile fiber network. Today, through consolidation and acquisition, Access/On is owned by 6 local exchange carriers.
