Founded in 1999, CarolinaLink is a Telephone Cooperative Political Action Committee (PAC) that represents employees, staff, directors and retirees of the North Carolina Broadband Cooperative Coalition (CarolinaLink) and North Carolina Telephone Membership Corporations (TMCs). By working together as CarolinaLink, members have a stronger voice to advocate for public policies that recognize the critical role that technology plays throughout rural areas of North Carolina.
Through the years, North Carolina’s population has shifted to more urban areas, causing rural areas to lose representation in legislative bodies. As the service provider for 26 of North Carolina’s most rural counties, it is more critical than ever for the TMC’s and CarolinaLink to support and fund qualified candidates who understand the issues that are important to their rural constituencies.
The PAC is administered by the CarolinaLink Staff and governed by a Board of Directors consisting of one employee from each of the seven TMC’s. Contribution decisions are made by the Board of Directors and not company management. CarolinaLink Directors include:
